Mark Meadows Immunity

Trump's Former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows Granted Immunity

Multiple Meetings with Federal Prosecutors

Former White House aide cooperating with Jack Smith's investigation

Former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows has spoken with special counsel Jack Smith's team several times this year and Smith granted Meadows immunity to testify under oath, sources say.

Meadows, who served as Trump's chief of staff from 2020 to 2021, has been subpoenaed by Smith as part of his investigation into the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.

The immunity deal allows Meadows to testify without fear of prosecution for any crimes he may have committed in connection with the January 6th attack. It is a sign that Smith believes Meadows has information that could be valuable to his investigation.

Meadows is one of a number of former Trump aides who have been subpoenaed by Smith. Others include former White House counsel Pat Cipollone and former Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien.

Smith's investigation is one of several ongoing investigations into the January 6th attack. The Justice Department is also investigating Trump's role in the attack, as well as the actions of his allies.
