Dennis Quaid on Tupac Shakur: "That was so great"

Dennis Quaid opened up on the time he spent with Tupac Shakur in films.

Home movies, photographs, and recited poetry illustrate the life of Tupac Shakur, one of the most beloved revolutionaries.

Dennis Quaid and Tupac Shakur go way back.

The two actors starred together in the 1993 film "Poetic Justice," and Quaid recently opened up about his memories of Shakur in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

"He was so talented, and he was so smart," Quaid said. "He was a natural actor, and he had a lot of depth to him. He was also a very kind and generous person."

Quaid recalled one particular moment from the set of "Poetic Justice" when Shakur surprised him with his rapping skills.

"We were in the middle of a scene, and he just started rapping," Quaid said. "It was so great. I had never heard anything like it before. He was just so full of energy and passion."

Shakur was killed in a drive-by shooting in 1996. He was just 25 years old.

But his legacy lives on through his music and his films.

In 2017, a documentary about Shakur's life, "All Eyez on Me," was released.

The film starred Demetrius Shipp Jr. as Shakur, and it featured interviews with Quaid and other people who knew him.

Quaid said that he was happy to be a part of the film.

"I think it's important to remember Tupac," he said. "He was a great artist, and he had a lot to say about the world."
